Inniskillin  Malbec

Discovery Series 2013

Being a great fan of Malbec, I love to see what are fella winemakers from the Okanagan are coming up with of course.

This is a Classic French Varietal and super sippable red. With a floral nose  clove and spice it  hit the right notes with it’s smoothness and light tannins, carrying with it subtle flavors of vanilla and Plum and Cherry. Loved this robust bodied wine with a subtle spicy finish.

It’s a must try for all you red lovers out there! Pairs well with Beef and Barbeque !!

Shout out to Mike Romand at Okanagan Estate Wine Shop in Kitsilano for the wine

BC Wine PIck of the week

old vines Aux

Gehringer Brothers

Old Vines Auxerrois 2014

A Little less known grape the Pinot Auxerrois , a relative of Chardonnay is a popular variety from Alsace . As a lover of Chardonnay I decided to give this a try from Gehringer Brothers  a very long standing winery situated in Oliver BC.  One thing I like about them is they do everything with great value and Quality. I have never been disappointed by any of their Wines on that point ! This vintage also boasts a few nice Awards including Gold 95 Pts. – Los Angeles International Wine Awards

As I peruse over the nose, I get a whiff of Citrus and Pear or wait? Maybe pomelo?? It really has a sweet lovely smooth taste with a layering of lingering apple on the off dry finish . I found it delivered a good balance of acidity as well. Easy pleasey!I believe this is a great Patio sipper as I watch the Cherry blossoms fall here in Vancouver ..

Give it a try at only  $13.29 at your local Wine shop or BCL
